The Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association has been recognized with an Organization Citation by the Southwest Region National Recreation and Parks Association, were nominated by the League of Women Voters of Washington County (and won first place in the Innovation category) for the ADEQ’s Environmental Stewardship award, known as the Envy Award, and we’ve had our mission endorsed by the Highlands Chapter of the Ozark Society, Arkansas’ oldest conservation organization. In addition we received the Honorable Mention for Home Depot Foundation Awards of Excellence for Community Trees which resulted in being invited by the Home Depot Foundation to attend and present at the November 2007 National Urban Forest Conference held in Baltimore. The conference was sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation. We recently learned that we have been selected as a finalist in the Home Depot Foundation Awards of Excellence for Community Trees 2008.
