►The National Wildlife Federation has a really super site designed to help families cure the chronic disease of the times -- "nature deficit disorder"-- by reconnecting with nature. Lots of fun activities and ideas. Check it out and find a trail near you. The Fayetteville Trails are getting better every day.
►The Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission is the state agency that is charged with:
1. establishing and protecting a System of Natural Areas,
2. collecting and maintaining information on the rare plant, animal, and high quality natural communities of Arkansas
3. providing data/information regarding the natural diversity of Arkansas
Their website contains many images of Arkansas native plants and animals, information about the nature and location of the state's System of Natural Areas, and numerous educational resources and citizen-science participation opportunities.
